Working together to improve literacy for all in Kamloops, BC
Literacy in Kamloops is a group of community partners who work with a Literacy Outreach Coordinator to meet the literacy needs of everyone.
What is Literacy?
Literacy is important for all of us, no matter how old or young we are. Literacy helps us participate fully in family, work and community.
“Literacy is the ability to identify, understand, interpret, create, communicate and compute, using printed and written materials associated with varying contexts.
Literacy involves a continuum of learning in enabling individuals to achieve their goals, to develop their knowledge and potential, and to participate fully in their community and wider society.”
