Support Family Literacy with
Raise-a-Reader
Empowering Families Through Literacy
The Raise-a-Reader fundraising and awareness campaign, established by the Vancouver Sun in 1997, aims to support family literacy programs across British Columbia. By providing children and families with the tools to enhance their reading skills, we lay the foundation for lifelong learning. These skills are crucial for improving quality of life and fostering the health and socio-economic well-being of individuals, families, and communities.
Our Impact and Partners
Through the generous support of Postmedia, the Province of British Columbia, Decoda Literacy Solutions, and the Ministry of Municipal Affairs, the Raise-a-Reader campaign has raised over $23 million to fund literacy initiatives in BC. These funds are directly invested in community programs, helping to nurture a love of reading and learning in families across the province.
