Raise a Reader day returns to Kamloops with new media sponsors CFJC Broadcast Group.
On Wednesday, September 25th, remember to put a few extra coins in your pocket for Raise-a-Reader Day happening in Kamloops, Barriere, Chase, Clearwater and Logan Lake.
Local celebrities, sponsors, sports teams, and staff will be volunteering at various Starbucks, Tim Hortons and McDonalds locations, as well as the Wednesday Farmers Market to trade a special-edition Raise a Reader newsletter for donations to literacy. 100% of the money collected will stay in the community, to help fund local family literacy programs. The funds raised will support many free literacy programs like Parent Child Mother Goose, One to One Reading, Bright Red Bookshelves and the Bright Red Book Bus.Look for Volunteers in bright orange t-shirts at these early morning coffee stops.
But if you miss the coffee stop, don’t worry! You can still make a donation anytime at https://decoda.ca/get-involved/raise-a-reader/. Check out our Raise a Reader page (linked) for more information on how you can support literacy in your community.
Make a Donation and Make a Difference. Literacy matters!
