On Wednesday September 24th, remember to put a few extra coins in your pocket for Raise-a-Reader Day happening in Kamloops, Barriere, Chase, Clearwater and Logan Lake.
Local celebrities, sponsors, sports teams, and staff will be volunteering from 7:00-9:00 am at various Tim Hortons and McDonalds locations to trade a special September issue of the Kamloops Chronicle featuring Raise a Reader for donations to literacy. 100% of the money collected will stay in the community, to help fund local family literacy programs. The funds raised will support many free literacy programs like Parent Child Mother Goose, Come Read with Me Parent Workshops, Bright Red Bookshelves and the Bright Red Book Bus.
Look for TRU sport teams, Kamloops Ambassadors, and local business leaders at these early morning coffee stops. But if you miss the coffee stop, don’t worry! You can still make a donation through our qr code below or at https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/42475. Just scroll down and click on the community you want to support!
